A Note From Our School Counselor
Hi everyone! I hope you have had a wonderful start to the school year at home. It seems like everyone is getting into a routine and learning the rules/expectations for each grade level here at school. I would like to welcome back our students and families and extend a warm welcome to our new families of St. Albert.
I would like to take just a minute to introduce myself. My name is Stacie Short. I am the school counselor. My primary role is to support your child and you in their school career here at St. Albert. I will work with your child(ren) in one of three ways during the school day. I can meet with students individually, in a small group, or in classroom guidance. I encourage you to reach out to me if there are concerns about your child. Please know that the concerns can be related to school or outside areas as well. I can meet with the student or you and see if we can find a solution. If that isn’t working then I can offer outside resources to you. Please let me know if I can help you in any way.
Stacie Short
School CounselorCarpool Notes:
Our first priority is the safety of YOUR children. We appreciate those of you who come through carpool the way it has been designed. We understand that everyone wants to get out in a timely fashion. Believe us we want to make it as quick as possible too!
Can you help us out with a few concerns that have popped up since we began school?
- Can you make sure that the people who are picking up know the routine? We have had a few “almost” accidents because people are pulling into different lanes. They just are not sure of what to do. If you need a diagram please review the handbook.
- Remember that everyone is to pick up in carpool line, not in another parking lot and then walk over to get your child. If you cannot go through the line then please call the main office and let them know you will be picking your child up through the office. We cannot have students walking over to other parking lots to leave so they do not have to wait in carpool. This is a safety issue.
- Students know the rules. Remember that your student knows they are to follow the rules and when we as parents do not adhere to the rules the student gets anxious and concerned about getting into trouble. Let's make sure we are setting a good example for them.
- Be quick. Please get your child and move quickly to your car so we can start dismissing the cars asap.
A happy family is a safe family! Here's to a great (& safe) school year!
