National Mental Health Month
Wow! Can you believe we only have 3 weeks left before summer break? We have had so many things that we dealt with this year due to COVID. When I sit and reflect on the year it seems like the beginning was so long ago. I know it is because we have had a lot of changes going on through the school year with mandates and protocols. Our students have been amazing. They have just rolled right on through the changes and taken them all in stride. They are so resilient.
May is National Mental Health Month. As a school counselor, I talk with students about what mental health is, what to do if we are not feeling well mentally and emotionally, and how our mental health can affect all areas of our life. The following came across my desk and I want to share it with you. This is from Counselor Chelsey blog.
If you need any more information, have questions, or have concerns please email me at sshort@stalbert.org.
Peace,
Stacie Short

May Crowning
Throughout history, Catholics have long honored the Blessed Virgin Mary during the month of May to symbolize Her significance in the Church and in our lives. In honor of the Blessed Virgin, Saint Albert the Great Catholic School will honor and celebrate Mary with a "May Crowning" on May 12th at 9:30 AM.
Each class will participate in the procession, the second graders will recite a special poem, and we will crown a statue of the Blessed Virgin with a garland or crown of flowers honoring Her as “the Queen of May."
Students in each class are asked to bring stems of flowers that day (May 12th) so that we can make vases of flowers for our special procession.
Students are also asked to wear their white school uniform shirts if they have one.
Please join us for this beautiful tradition. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend. We honor our Blessed Mother, and our earthly mothers, on this special day!
Flowers for May Crowning
In order to honor Mary, students are asked to please bring flowers to school on Thursday, May 12th. T. Flowers, if possible, should be stem flowers in order to help make the bouquets for each classroom. Please de-thorn any flowers before bringing them!
Thank you!
