We made it!

It is our last week of school.

I know these last 7 weeks have been difficult for everyone in different ways. We have applauded the teachers for taking this challenge head on and really doing an amazing job. We have thanked the parents for their ability to adapt at doing their regular job, being a teacher, and also doing their main job of being a parent. Now it is time to celebrate the resiliency of our children. They have been heroes. I saw this post on Music City School Counselor Facebook page and I held on to it so that I could share it with you on my last Monday memo of this year.

I pray that you and your family stay healthy as we transition back to some form of normalcy. I hope that your family is able to truly relax and enjoy the summer months so we are re-energized when we can return to school. Know that I am here if you need me.

Here’s to our Kids:

Shout out to the Kids

Everyone is applauding everyone but our children, These little heroes have stayed indoors more than they’ve ever known in their lives. Their whole worlds have literally been turned upside down. All the things they love like sports, being with friends, going to school, or just being kids have all been taken away from them. Adults talking about others becoming unwell, news reporting death after death. Our poor children’s minds must be racing. Every day they get up and carry on despite all that’s going on. So here’s to our little heroes: today, tomorrow, forever.

Class of 2021 Apparel

We will be ordering 8th grade apparel soon. The Apparel Committee will have sample sizes to view on Thursday 5/14 and Friday 5/15 during your scheduled Chromebook drop off and locker clean out times. We will be set up in the hall by the Mini Lab. Apparel information sheets will be available that include ordering details. This will be the ONLY opportunity to view apparel prior to ordering.

We love our teachers!

We are so proud of all the work our teachers have been doing to engage our students during distance learning. Their flexibility, creativity, adaptability, dedication and enthusiasm shines bright as they continue to prepare and propel our students forward while providing them with a quality education.

The planning committee chair develops 1-year, 3-year and 5-year goals that increase our “greatness" with the help of the planning committee. This committee incorporates research and ideas from the other standing committees to develop strategic plans utilizing creative solutions. The committee collaborates closely with parish ministries and school organizations to synchronize those plans and communicate them to the parish and school community.

If you would like to volunteer for this position or submit a nomination, please email Ann Abrams, School Board Secretary, at schoolboard-secretary@stalbert.org your first and last name (or nominee's name) along with a contact number. Thank you!

PLEASE COMPLETE NO LATER THAN MAY 29TH.

THIS INFORMATION WILL BE USED TO COMPILE ROUTES AS WELL AS EMERGENCY CONTACT LISTS.

Once we have determined the number of buses needed, we can provide a more accurate cost per family. At this time, we will not be collecting a deposit.

JK RIDERS: In order for a junior kindergarten student to ride the bus, Miller Transportation requires them to be accompanied by a sibling.

--- FROM YOUR SPORTS MINISTRY ---

SPORTS Cancelled

All remaining CSAA spring and summer sports for the 2019-2020 season are officially canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. We will do everything in our power to resume normal CSAA sports activities in the fall of the 2020-2021 school year.

While planning for sports in the fall, we will continue to monitor the health crisis and adhere to any mandates from the Archdiocese of Louisville, CDC, local government, and federal authorities.

Reimbursements for spring sports will be coming in the next couple of weeks. Please be patient. We have one person with the ability to process these. Stay safe and we hope to see you sooner rather than later.

The End.
