Letter from the Principal

August 16th, 2020

We are ready for our first full week of school! Our first two days, last week, were great! Yes, we had some adjustments… air conditioning broken in two rooms, classroom tables not delivered, still waiting for shipment of some of our textbooks, but all in all, it was great! We are back in school and loving it! Our staff and faculty could not be better! They have made adjustments, directed carpool out in 95 degree weather, made schedule changes within a few minutes, and welcomed all of our students back with open arms.

One big way our faculty and staff have come together for the beginning of our school year is through helping out with Play Cafe. When Mrs. Burton was going to need to limit students in Play Cafe due to the lack of staffing, our teachers stepped up. We have the most amazing, hard working St. Albert family. The teachers have stepped up temporarily until permanent employees can be hired. This means completing trainings, following state regulations by getting TB tests, fingerprinting etc. all while getting to school at 7:00 and staying until 6:00. This is a long day, and I am so lucky to be working with such a dedicated staff. (And if you know of anyone that could work our Play Cafe from 3:00 - 6:00, please send them our way!)

This school year, our whole school will be focusing on the Fruits of the Holy Spirit. All grades levels, during the month of August, will be focusing on Kindness. Let’s take the month of August to really reflect on how Jesus was kind in all of his interactions, and how we, too, can try to always act with kindness.

I shared with our school staff, on the first day of school: My prayer for you this year, is a prayer of hope and a prayer of joy. In this current world full of questions, anger, and resentment, I hope we can remember our true mission in representing Him: showing our faith and hope while being thankful for our many blessings and spreading His joy.

Have a wonderful first week of school!
