Upcoming EVENTS

Catholic Identity Parent Survey

The Archdiocese of Louisville and all of its schools are engaged in an ongoing continuous improvement process, of which all stakeholders are an integral part. At this time the Archdiocese and St. Albert the Great are using the Catholic Identity: Program Effectiveness survey as a means to elicit your opinions about the Catholic identity of our school and archdiocese in order to target areas of strength as well as areas of improvement. The survey will not take much of your time, but it will provide us with valuable feedback to help in the continual improvement process. The survey is anonymous, so you can feel comfortable giving the most accurate ratings possible.

The Archdiocese of Louisville will use the aggregate data from this survey, along with past survey data as part of its continuous improvement process. Soon you will receive information on how to access the Catholic Identity: Program Effectiveness survey. The timeframe for completion will be from

October 17 through October 31. Because the survey will be online you are able to take it whenever is most convenient for you.

Your cooperation and support in completing the Catholic Identity: Program Effectiveness survey will be greatly appreciated.

Term 2: A New Beginning

Psalm 34:5: They looked to Him and were radiant.

Today marks the first day of our second grading period. It is a new beginning, a new chance for us to improve just a little. Please choose an area that you can improve on, and for the next nine weeks, think about it every day. At the end of our second grading period, it will have become a habit and will be a reason for celebration!

The second grading period also brings our recognition of the character trait, joy! We will be recognizing students, teachers, and staff throughout this grading period that exhibit joy!

When Moses returned from meeting with God on Mount Sinai, his face shone so brightly that it astonished the Israelites. This is the result of being in God’s presence. God’s glory shows through us. We can see the glow of His presence in our spirit and character.

Recognizing and appreciating God’s many blessings brings us joy and happiness.

According to a Stanford Research Institute study, a positive attitude contributes to success and happiness in life more than anything else. It suggests that 87.5 percent of people’s success and happiness can be traced to their positive attitudes, while just 12.5 percent of their success and happiness comes from their knowledge, aptitude and skills.

We start this second quarter of the 2018-2019 school year with gratitude and joy in our hearts.

God, you bring such light to our lives. Thank you for shining through us. We pray others will see your glory and love you too. Amen

I wish all of our St. Albert students, families, faculty and staff much joy!

School Principal

Parent Tech Talk: Internet Safety

Thursday, November 15th 6:30 to 8:30 pm

As a ministry of our parish, we would like to offer an opportunity for parents to ask questions and discuss the current digital landscape that we all live in -- specifically how this landscape affects our children and our students. Technology can be an incredible force for good, but as parents, we still need to guide our children to become good digital citizens. Parents therefore need to be aware of the questions and challenges that today's children face.

The seminar will consist of a short presentation and then group discussions on tips, tricks and case studies pertaining to our children growing up with technology. Topics will range from toddlers using YouTube to the teenagers getting into social media.

I will be facilitating the presentation on Thursday, November 15th 6:30 to 8:30 pm

Students can attend, but the session will be more oriented towards parents. Child care is not provided.

NOTE: You do not have be a St. Albert parent to attend. All are welcome.

Thirst Project

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table in the gym at Haunted Halls this weekend. The 6th graders appreciate the donations to our service project. We are educating the community about the lack of clean water in Africa while we are studying earth science and Eastern world geography.

The water container weighed 43 pounds 10 ounces. The closest guess was made by Jimmy Corbett (father of 1st grader Colin Corbett) who guessed 43 pounds 8 ounces. He wins the prize - a water tumbler filled with Jolly Ranchers!

Look for more information and ways to get involved as we continue our project throughout the year.

Haunted Halls

Thank you!

A HUGE THANK YOU to Krysi Simon and Gretchen McBride for organizing this year’s incredibly successful Haunted Halls! Thank you, too, to the countless volunteers who showed up in droves to help make the event amazing! Thank you to all our donors who donated food and supplies! And yet another thank you to all the people who showed up to have fun! This event truly highlights what makes the St. Albert’s community so special: so many people coming together, even during tough times, and working hard to build an environment that fosters the strong community spirit here— all while laughing, joking, pulling each other up, cheering each other on, and having a great time. We are so grateful for our St. Albert’s family, for this event, and for everyone who makes it possible.
