Moments
As we finish up this last week before spring break, I hope we will finish the week strong knowing we have rest ahead. Whether you have plans to go to the beach, a big city, or stay in Louisville, I hope that everyone takes some time to appreciate their families. And during this time of Lent, appreciate the “moments” that God has created for you.
This past week, while listening to Dynamic Catholic’s Lenten video series, my favorite video was Matthew Kelly delivering a message about creating and recognizing “moments”. By creating one deliberate God “moment”, we are recognizing Him in our life, and can continue to build on each “moment” He has given us.
This year, our staff is spending time each day during lent, whether it is just a quick thought, or a deliberate conversation with God, praying for another staff member. We feel the support of our staff and God as we travel through this very Holy time.
My prayer for each one of our families during this Lenten time, is to enjoy “moments” with your own families. These are truly God’s gifts. Have a wonderful and safe spring break!

Charity for the People of Venezuela
"The humanitarian crisis in Venezuela is escalating as political and economic instability has left hundreds of thousands of families without access to food, medical care, critical supplies and social services. With the average monthly income now as low as $3, more than 82 percent of the population lives in poverty. And, a medicine shortage and collapsed health infrastructure have led to a rise in diseases, like Zika, thought to have been eradicated." -Catholic Relief Services
In conjugation with their community and service unit in Spanish class, 8th grade students have been learning about the dire situation that affects the people of Venezuela. We have parishioners with family and friends in need of our help. Westport Road Church of Christ will be hosting a community event on April 14th at 11:00 am and we would like to help support the cause. If you would like to contribute, donations will be received this week (March 25-29) and the week we return from Spring Break (April 8-12). Checks can be made payable to St. Albert.

Through 8 weeks of summer overnight camp, as well as school programming in the spring and fall, YMCA Camp Piomingo provides experiential learning opportunities and encourages campers to develop both life skills and character education. Multiple studies have shown that the activities and atmosphere at summer camp not only prevents summer learning loss but also creates an outdoor classroom that taps into academic success.
We want all students to have the benefit of these experiences, so we are reaching out to see if there is an opportunity to work more closely with your school. I have proposed some ideas below and would appreciate it if you could let me know if you are the person we would work with or if there is someone else I should contact at your school. We are hoping to impact as many campers, families, and schools as possible.
