Monday Memo
Week 18 | January 9-13
Letter from the Administration
I hope the first week back to school after the Christmas break has been an easy transition. I tried so hard to ease my way back into getting up early but I kept pushing it off to the next day until it was the day to return and I had no option but to get up early. This tends to happen to me when I am trying to start a new routine. Maybe you find yourself in the same situation with a New Year’s resolution. Most people say I am going to lose weight or eat healthier or…….. fill in the blank. But then, say I will start tomorrow or the next day. Maybe this year instead of trying to change something you consider taking time to be present. Use being in the moment as a gift to yourself and those you love.
The following article talks about how being present can help build/strengthen our relationships with our children.

2023-2024 returning student Pre-registration
It’s hard to believe that it’s already time to begin planning for the following school year. We ask for your cooperation by letting us know as far in advance as possible if your child(ren) will NOT be returning for the 2023-2024 school year. This helps us identify the number of spots available for prospective students next year and also affects our enrollment forecast.
Catholic Schools Week
Celebrate Catholic Schools Week starting on Monday, January 30th! Please see the attached flyer for details of the theme days the Student Council planned. We will be celebrating by thanking the many people who make our Catholic school so great!
Dollars For Diapers
According to the National Diaper Bank, "1 in 3 U.S. families experience diaper needs." During Catholic Schools Week (January 30- February 3), Student Council will be collecting donations for the St. Bernadette Diaper Bank which services families in our area.
Please use the link below to make an online donation or send cash/checks made out to St. Albert the Great (memo- St. Bernadette Diaper Bank). Homeroom teachers will collect donations each morning during the week of January 30th. Thank you for your support!
Cafeteria Reminders
Just a friendly reminder to parents to please check your child(ren)'s lunch account balance and make sure there is money added as necessary. The cafeteria will always make sure your child gets fed, but students may not purchase extra items when they have a negative balance.
Parents can check their account balance on myschoolbucks.com. It is free to set up.
If you have any questions, please email Marylynn Peterman -- mpeterman@stalbert.org
