This is it, this is the end.

For me. This is the end for me. This is my last EVER Monday Memo. I'll spend the rest of this week finishing up a few projects and transferring items over to Jack who is taking over.

It's been a fun ride. I started at St. Albert in July of 2014, just a young buck starting in the scary world of 'real-big-boy-jobs'. I've learned so much over the years. The St. Albert community has truly been a large part of my life and I've very much enjoyed being a part of such a rich and welcoming community.

We've been through a lot of growth and changes since 2014, as a world, as a community, as a school and as people. I've really enjoyed working with all of our teachers over the last 7ish years. I've gotten to serve under some exceptional leadership and train and lead some exceptional, wonderful educators.

One of my first trainings at St. Albert was about the importance of checking emails more than once a day. It was a bit of a struggle and I met some resistance. But everyone got the hang of it!

Now, after the year that was 2020 one of the last trainings I did with our teachers was showing them how to use Screencastify and make screen recordings. I showed them how it could be used and then how they could add it to a google site or upload it to YouTube to share with their students. That's quite the leap! I'm so proud of our teachers for how much they have learned and grown!

It is a bit sad that this is likely going to be one of the last emails I send you. I send you all A LOT of emails.

My time at St. Albert is coming to a close. I'm leaving you in good hands, I know that Jack and Lindsay will take the technology program above and beyond what I could do.

Like the good book says: "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven."

I'll leave you with a few thoughts for reflection... The below was included in one of my own weekly newsletters I like to read, I thought they were appropriate parting words.

Listen without interrupting.
Share without pretending.
Speak without accusing.
Enjoy without complaint.
Give without sparing.
Trust without wavering.
Pray without ceasing.
Forgive without punishing.
Answer without arguing.
Promise without forgetting.

Not much left to say besides Thank you. Thank you for everything, St. Albert. I'll miss you.

Summer Programs

The following academic programs are being offered this summer:

Family Support: Mental Health Issues

After navigating through their own daughter's mental health crisis in late 2019 Blair and Gretchen McBride recognized there is a gap in support for families supporting their children with mental health issues or experiencing crisis.

After participating in the National Alliance for Mental Illness' training for group facilitators they've forming a NAMI Family to Family support group. The group will follow the NAMI format for support groups, which is designed to utilize the group dynamic to provide knowledge, encouragement and support.

The group will meet on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month from 7pm - 8:15pm at St. Albert the Great Catholic Parish in the Parish Life Center. The first meeting will be Sunday, June 13th.

To connect about the group or for more information contact:

Blair McBride (blair.mcbride.ky@gmail.com) or Gretchen McBride (gllm3112@gmail.com)

We welcome the opportunity for any families to join us!

Walking on Sunshine - Field Day 2021

On behalf of the PTO Field Day Committee, we'd like to thank all of our amazing volunteers from today! From the PTO Board & Mrs. Martin with their amazing support of this event, to those that dropped off supplies, food & drinks, the parents that set-up and tore down, families who freed up a part of their busy day to attend this event and our sweet 8th graders who returned after graduation to help out. We could not have pulled this event off without the helping hands and support from each and every one of you.
