SOAR With A Positive Attitude
Our attitude is our way of thinking or feeling about someone or something and is usually reflected in our behavior. So how can we help our students SOAR with a positive attitude about school? As a school community, let’s help our students focus on their Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, and Results.
STRENGTHS - Let’s help our students understand what they do well so they can maximize their best skills academically and socially. Let’s intentionally recognize each student’s strengths.
OPPORTUNITIES - Let’s understand that often opportunities for growth emerge from tough events and frustrations, but if we teach our students to persevere, and try again, they will grow.
ASPIRATIONS - Let’s help our students reach high so as to reach meaningful goals, both in their citizenship skills and academics. Let’s help our students see the connection between their goals and their effort.
RESULTS - Let’s help our students recognize their growth and see that results are related to effort and the right attitude. Let’s acknowledge and celebrate growth!
It is through our combined efforts that we can help each child SOAR with a positive attitude this school year!

Parent Tech Talk: Internet Safety
Thursday, November 15th 6:30 to 8:30 pm
As a ministry of our parish, we would like to offer an opportunity for parents to ask questions and discuss the current digital landscape that we all live in -- specifically how this landscape affects our children and our students. Technology can be an incredible force for good, but as parents, we still need to guide our children to become good digital citizens. Parents therefore need to be aware of the questions and challenges that today's children face.
The seminar will consist of a short presentation and then group discussions on tips, tricks and case studies pertaining to our children growing up with technology. Topics will range from toddlers using YouTube to the teenagers getting into social media.
I will be facilitating the presentation on Thursday, November 15th 6:30 to 8:30 pm
Students can attend, but the session will be more oriented towards parents. Child care is not provided.
NOTE: You do not have be a St. Albert parent to attend. All are welcome.
