Summer Reading:
Our librarian and reading teachers have put together our 2023 Summer Reading Lists. Junior Kindergarten through 2nd grade have book recommendations, but are not required to read these specific books. However, we do suggest they read throughout the summer whether it is on their own or with a parent. 3rd through 8th grade have required books and books they can select from based on a list provided by their teacher. Students will do projects and discuss the books when they return to school in August. Many of these books can be found at the library, Half Priced Book Stores, or borrowed from other parents. Happy reading!

New Family Mentor Program
Starting a new school can be an exciting time in a family’s life, but it can also be an overwhelming experience. The New Family Mentor Program (previously known as “Host Families”) was created to assist new families in navigating St. Albert the Great School during their first year. Our number one priority is to welcome new families and make sure their questions are answered.
We believe the best way to help new parents is to pair them with current families at St. Albert. The mentor family will assist new families starting this summer and throughout the school year by answering questions, addressing concerns, helping them get involved and meet friends, all while making sure they feel welcomed and informed. Most importantly, the mentor family will be a familiar face around the school to help new families feel more comfortable when everything else seems new.
Please see the attached document for more information about the program and the participation form for interested families wanting to sign up.
