Letter from the Administration
Mrs. Abbott and I are excited to be hosting our first “Coffee and Conversation” Friday, February 24 (JK-2), Monday, February 27 (3-5), and Tuesday, February 28 (6-8). This is a great opportunity for us to get to know our families a little bit better and answer questions and discuss ideas and plans for our future. We are keeping the numbers in attendance small so that we have the opportunity to talk with and listen to all of those present. Since this is something new, we will adjust accordingly adding to the number of sessions we have, and looking at the numbers of attendees.
Have a wonderful Winter Break! We are excited for this new opportunity and look forward to coffee with you on our first “Coffee and Conversation” on Friday, February 24.

2023-2024 returning student Pre-registration
It’s hard to believe that it’s already time to begin planning for the following school year. We ask for your cooperation by letting us know as far in advance as possible if your child(ren) will NOT be returning for the 2023-2024 school year. This helps us identify the number of spots available for prospective students next year and also affects our enrollment forecast.
Coffee & conversations
Join Principal, Ellen Martin, and Assistant Principal, Debbie Abbott, after morning carpool for an informal gathering to talk about school related issues, share ideas, ask questions, and stay connected to school staff and fellow parents. We will be meeting in the Sacred Heart Center (small house located across from the cafeteria & parking lot).
We are very excited to share this new opportunity for connection and conversation with you! Until we get a better idea of participation and requested conversation topics, we ask that parents RSVP AND fill out a quick survey using the links below. Even if you cannot attend our first session, we would appreciate you filling out the survey.
Coffee will be provided.
This is a parents only event.
The Book Fair Is Coming!
Our Scholastic Book Fair will be taking place February 8-14. Students may shop during Library class as well as during Parent/Teacher Conference days.
We are looking forward to seeing you there!
Lost & Found
Our Lost & Found is exploding! As always, you can check it before or during school hours and also on the weekends around Mass times. With conferences this week, take a minute to swing by and see if you’re missing anything. Items left after winter break will be given to the used uniform sale committee, donated, or thrown away. Thanks in advance!

2023-24 School Board Open Positions
The School Board is now seeking volunteers and nominations for the open Voting Member positions for the upcoming 2023-24 school year. We are seeking individuals to fill the following positions.
Budget Chair
The budget committee gathers and understands the status of school funding from tuition, subsidies and fundraising to assist the principal in advocating on behalf of the school to the Parish Finance Council. It also reviews financial reports to ensure that proper financial management policies and procedures are in place regarding income and expenses. This is a great committee if you live on a budget or have experience in accounting and finance.
Data Chair
The data committee collects data on enrollment, testing, state of the school, alumni and current school families. It assists the other standing committees needing survey information and data to develop their goals, in particular the planning and development committees. This is a great committee if you love to organize or have experience in market research and data analysis.
Technology Chair
The technology committee drafts a school technology plan, including budget, by assessing existing technology, prioritizing a wish list and gathering cost estimates on securing wish list items. It also evaluates how technology is being used effectively elsewhere. The committee works closely with school and parish technology personnel. This is a great committee if you have experience with information technology and computer programming or you just can’t live without the latest tech gadget.
Secretary
The Secretary is a member of the Executive Committee and responsible for the following:
Keep the minutes of all Board meetings and Executive Committee meetings
Circulate all School Board meetings and School Executive Committee meetings to the Board and post minutes on the St. Albert website
Coordinate with the Chair to prepare and circulate agendas for Board meetings
Register the Board Members for the annual Archdiocese School Board Workshop.
At the Chair’s request, distribute and tally electronic consensus/voting by the Board and the Executive Committee.
Timely coordinate with the School technology administrator(s) to ensure:
That the Board page of the School website is up-to-date;
Posting of Board meeting dates/times;
in the School calendar on the School website;
on the School Board page of the School website; and
in the “Monday Memo”; and
The timely posting of approved Board meeting minutes on the School Board page of the School website.
At the Chair’s request, facilitate Board and Executive Committee correspondence.
Communicate regularly with the Formation Committee Liaison.
Include in the Board’s minute book, copies of all Board and Executive Committee requests for Electronic Consensus/Voting.
Supervise the two Standing Committees assigned to the Secretary by the Executive Committee.
If you would like to volunteer for an open position or submit a nomination, please email Aaron Giust, School Board Secretary, at schoolboard-secretary@stalbert.org your first and last name (or nominee's name) along with a contact number and email address by Friday, February 24, 2023.
All volunteers and nominees are required to meet with current School Board members for a Discernment Meeting during the week of February 26, 2023, to learn more about the Board and the responsibilities of Voting Members. The exact date and time will be determined upon input from interested parties. Thank you!
