A Note From Mrs. MArtin

“The child is the beauty of God present in the world, that greatest gift to a family.” -- Mother Teresa

This is one of my favorite quotes by Mother Teresa. It is so true on so many levels. We all know that as a mom, there is no greater gift than our own children. My two daughters bring love and joy to my life every hour of every day. As all of our educators at St. Albert, I chose the profession of Education to get to work with and for the good of these wonderful gifts.

As you received the letter from Father Dave last Friday addressing the inappropriate comments made during reconciliation, I want you to know that we take this very seriously. We will not allow your children to be put in uncomfortable and/or unsafe situations.

The administration is working closely with Father Dave, the Parish staff and the Archdiocese as we move forward. We will inform you about upcoming Reconciliation services involving our students so that you are aware of our services and able to make decisions and have discussions with your children based on our offerings.

As part of your team in educating your children, I value and share your concerns for your children. We will work together for the best academic and spiritual education for our greatest gifts!

Ellen Martin

School Principal

With the current concerns surrounding COVID-19 we thought it best to keep last week's section in this week's edition. The below section has been update with new information and a letter from the Archdiocese of Louisville.

Below is a video that several of our classes are using to discuss the Coronavirus.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) UPDATE

March 9, 2020: As of this morning, four (4) cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed in Kentucky with one (1) of those cases in Jefferson County. The state of Kentucky has a web page with the latest information about the coronavirus.

Following news briefings from state and local leaders in Frankfort and Louisville today, our Catholic schools will continue to operate on normal schedules. We will continue to monitor conditions in conjunction with our local health departments, and if conditions change, we will adjust our recommendations and practices accordingly.

We are taking all precautions to provide safe and healthy environments for our students.

Summer Solutions is here!

Summer learning loss puts students at a serious disadvantage. This is when skills and knowledge are lost over the summer months, causing students to move backwards instead of progressing.

By spending just minutes a day with Summer Solutions, students get the practice they need to keep moving forward. It was designed to help students return to school after summer break confident in the skills they’ve already learned and ready to master new ones.

Your child worked hard all year. Make sure that progress sticks. Give your child the advantage of Summer Solutions.

Each book is $13.00

Lyndon Catholic Tackle Football 2020

3rd - 8th 2020 Season

We would like to congratulate Chris Botner for his leadership and dedication to our Lyndon Catholic and St. Albert football programs over the years. Due to his success and being a leader in the CSAA community, he has been offered and accepted the head freshman coaching position at Trinity High School for this upcoming football season. Trinity is getting a class act and he will be sorely missed by the Lyndon Catholic program. If you see him please thank him for his time and commitment for the countless hours he dedicated to making our program a success over the years. We wish him nothing but the best.

With that being said here are a few changes and needs for our program:

  • We are now looking for candidates for the 7/8 head coach. We had previously put out communication for the need for a head coach for our 3 and 4 grade teams. We have received some interest on the lower levels and are still taking applications through the end of March.
  • Please reach out to the below coordinators for any level of interest. We will be setting up interviews at the end of this month. We will be coordinating dates and times to interview coaches with our Lyndon Catholic Football Committee. Please let us know if you have any questions, we are looking at another exciting year for our program.

Football Coordinators for Lyndon Catholic program now are:

  • Steve Burmester (St. Albert) sburmester@prempack.com (502) 548-1298
  • Chris Schneidtmiller (St. Margaret Mary) chris@pacdealerships.com (502) 718-7999

Thanks,
