JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT
Parent volunteers are needed for the following homerooms:
- KA
- KC
- 4B
- 5C
Have you been wondering how to become more involved at school? Here’s the answer… parents are needed as volunteers to present Junior Achievement material in the classrooms! JA provides materials and scripted lessons for interesting and enjoyable classroom presentations. You need no special experience (only attendance in an Honor the Children’s class). There are 4-6 class sessions of 30-40 minutes each (Feb.-April 2018) for grades K-5. Teachers are flexible in working with your schedules.
Contact your child’s homeroom teacher or Mary Heather Adam (madam@stalbert.org) for more information or to sign up to be a part of your child’s classroom experience. Your child will be glad you did!

Support the Steven Vanover Foundation by attending their inaugural Flights to Fight Cancer gala on Feb. 15, 2020. The evening will include an array of tastes and flavors with flights of craft beer, wine, bourbon and food. Guests will also enjoy dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions and more. Proceeds benefit the Steven Vanover Foundation which is currently funding Norton Cancer Institute's new genomics lab technology which will help provide personalized treatment options for cancer patients in our community.
The event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 5:30 to 11 p.m. at Mellwood Art and Entertainment Center. Purchase your tickets now at FlightsToFightCancer.org.
The Foundation was founded in 2015 after St. Albert parishioner and graduate, Steven Vanover ('04), lost his life to a rare form of cancer. To this date, the organization has raised nearly $500,000 for cancer research and local scholarships. Learn more and donate at StevenVanover.org.

Please use the following link to send a message to your legislator to support HB 350: https://www.votervoice.net/CCKY/Home

In keeping with tradition, the PTO will provide dinner for our teachers on both evenings of the conferences (Feb. 11th and Feb. 12th) in the teachers lounge. We are looking for volunteers to help provide additional food items to make this a very special event for our teachers.
It is a wonderful way to show our gratitude to the teachers for all their hard work!! In addition it is an easy way to support the PTO if otherwise your schedule hasn't permitted.
Health Screenings
Health screenings for our students will take place on Monday, February 24th. If you have a few hours to help us complete these state required screenings, please check out the sign up LINK. No medical training is needed to volunteer!! We have also attached the permission slip that each child must have on file. There is an option to opt out of the screening if you so choose, but we must have the slip returned. There will also be a copy in the Tuesday Folder the week before the screenings.
