Monday Memo
Week 31 | April 19-22
Letter from the Administration
Monday, April 18, 2022
Happy Spring! I hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter Weekend.
Spring is such a busy time for many people, and it is also a very busy time for St. Albert Parish School!
We are busy tying up the end of the year activities as well as beginning preparations for the 2022-2023 school year. The end of the school year is always a bit difficult in that it is a time that changes begin to take place. Not only are our students growing and progressing to the next grade, but our staff and faculty tends to make changes as well. This year, we are saying “see you later” (not goodbye) to several loved staff members.
Sharon Grider, our much loved cafeteria manager, will be retiring after this school year. Sharon has been at St. Albert for 40 years and is loved by all. I feel certain we will still see Sharon helping out around St. Albert.
BJ Ziegler, who you have seen in the cafeteria, our amazing cook, will also be retiring after this school year.
Sharon Zdunek, our preschool director, is also retiring after this school year. Sharon has been at St. Albert for 12 years. She is a miracle worker with our sweet preschoolers, and has created the fun and nurturing school start for many of our students.
Grace Duckworth, our sixth grade Reading and Language Arts teacher (and Science this year!) will be retiring after this school year and 16 years of experience. Grace is excited to start spending more time with her family and traveling.
Chelsea Culbreth, one of our current second grade teachers, will be leaving after this school year. Chelsea assures me that she will be back to St. Albert, but will be taking some time to enjoy her son Dean, a preschool student, and the two new additions to their family: William and Andrew.
Bekah Wheat, one of our second grade assistants, will be taking the rest of the year and into next year off as she is preparing for a brother or sister for their son, Wren.
Being part of the St. Albert community is a gift. As a family, we never really say “good bye” to one another, we really just make room for some new additions. We wish all of our staff that is leaving the very best, and can’t wait to hear about their adventures.
