Lamentations 3: 21-22: “ Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.”

How do I even start? This past weekend has definitely been a very difficult one for our community during a very difficult time for the world. My prayer for our community is that we can focus on hope. That we can find the one candle burning light into our lives. The candle that will brighten each day and illuminate the darkness. Through all of our darkness, we can still find goodness. Please continue to pray for our St. Albert community.

Remote Learning Option

What RLO is

The Remote Learning Option is for students quarantining due to a COVID-19 positive test or exposure to a positive COVID-19 case. Once a student has tested positive or has been in contact with a person within 48 hours of their positive test, parents can call the school office or email Lindsay Finley (lfinley@stalbert.org) to request to be added to the RLO program for the duration of the student’s quarantine. Please refer to the school COVID Response Website if you have any questions.

What RLO is not

The Remote Learning Option is not to be used for a sick day or two or for any type of trip. If your child is sick or is waiting for COVID-19 test results, it is considered a normal absent day. You can email your child’s homeroom teacher about getting the make up work sent home or telling the teacher your child will pick up the work when they return to school. If your family has planned a trip during the school year, follow the guidelines in the Parent/Student Handbook.

Honoring Mrs. Boone

Mrs. Pam Boone was honored on October 9th at a small gathering at the home of former St. Albert math teacher, Mrs. Nancy Coomes. Many of Mrs. Boone's colleagues were in attendance to celebrate her 40 years of teaching in the schools of the archdiocese. Mrs. Boone taught at St. Albert for 20 years. She tirelessly devoted herself to her students and to the school and its betterment as a whole.

When she opened her gifts and saw that her St. Albert bear was holding a small copy of To Kill a Mockingbird, her smile grew from ear to ear! She was so grateful for the PTO blanket and the beautiful framed crosses that the children had made for her as well.

We wish Mrs. Boone many blessings and good health! She will always be in our hearts and in our prayers. Thank you Mrs. Boone for being such a wonderful and devoted teacher of St. Albert's students!

Friday, 12:30 Dismissals Continue Through January

As stated in our September Sustainability Letter, we have evaluated the continuation of our Friday, 12:30 dismissals. At this time, we are going to continue the Friday, 12:30 dismissals through January when we will reevaluate the calendar/schedule again. As several Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese are adjusting their calendars during the Holiday season, we have currently decided to continue with our original school calendar with the addition of the Friday, 12:30 dismissals through January. Thank you for your understanding in this adjustment, and we will watch our circumstances and take into consideration recommendations from the CDC and Archdiocese should we need to make any further adjustments.

Morning Car pool times changing

Our morning carpool seems to be going great! With the colder weather approaching, we are now taking temperatures when students are entering the building. Since we have made such great improvements, we are going to move the drop off time from 7:15 to 7:25. This means our morning carpool will be from 7:25 - 7:50 each morning. We will start this adjusted time after Thanksgiving, on Monday, November 30.
