Winks

During a month that we place a special focus on diversity, and during a time that our world needs love, kindness, compassion and peace for all, I wanted to share a couple of “winks” that God has given me over the last couple of days…

The first one, was the daily reflection from Dynamic Catholic on Wednesday, last week:

“Every single human being, every life created by God, matters to God. No one is more important or significant than or valued more than any other. Here’s the catch: If each person matters to God, each human should matter to us.”

The other sign from God came to me through a text from my brother. I am so unbelievably blessed to have a family that shares a bible verse text every morning. (I would like to take the credit, but I am just the receiver of the love and knowledge.) HIs verse that he sent the same day, last Wednesday, was Job 31:13-15:

“If I have denied justice to any of my servants, whether male or female, when they had a grievance against me, what will I do when God confronts me? What will I answer when called to account? Did not he who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers?”

Such a wonderful message. One written recently, and one written well over 1000 years before Christ. The same message: We are all made by the same God and all deserve love and respect.

Pre-Registration Fee

Just a reminder, on March 12, 2021, we will automatically draft your Pre-Registration fee of $100 per student (current returning students) through your FACTS account, in order to reserve your child’s spot in class for the 2021-2022 school year. In the past, we drafted pre-registration fees in early February. But due to potential Covid-19 hardships and the recent holiday season, we decided to postpone payments until mid March.

You will receive a notification from FACTS Management via email in advance before your account is drafted. If you have any questions, please contact Cheryl Harper at charper@stalbert.org or 425-3940, x107.

Welcome New Students!

Please give a warm St. Albert welcome to the following students that started mid year at St. Albert the Great. We are excited to welcome them into our school family!

2021-2022 School Calendar

Our 2021-2022 School Calendar will be coming out in the next couple of weeks. I wanted to make you aware that the first day of school for the 2021-2022 school year will be Thursday, August 12 which will be a 12:30 dismissal. Please watch for the entire 2021-2022 school calendar to be sent out soon.

Book Fair!

Scholastic is currently very understaffed and is ironing out details on the materials tour. As soon as we get a time frame we will let you know. Thank you to all of the parents and students that have been asking about it!

2021-22 School Board Open Positions

The School Board is now seeking volunteers and nominations for the open Voting Member positions for the upcoming 2021-22 school year. We are seeking individuals to fill the following two positions.

  • Policy Chair

    • The policy committee evaluates existing policies in the areas of Community Relations, Administration, Personnel, Students & Instruction and Business & Non-Instructional Operations. It also formulates any policy additions or changes needing to be addressed immediately. This is a great committee if you like rules or have experience in human resources, public relations, real estate, education, finance and law.

  • Technology Chair

    • The technology committee drafts a school technology plan, including budget, by assessing existing technology, prioritizing a wish list and gathering cost estimates on securing wish list items. It also evaluates how technology is being used effectively elsewhere. The committee works closely with school and parish technology personnel. This is a great committee if you have experience with information technology and computer programming or you just can’t live without the latest tech gadget.

If you would like to volunteer for an open position or submit a nomination, please email Aaron Giust, School Board Secretary, at schoolboard-secretary@stalbert.org your first and last name (or nominee's name) along with a contact number and email address by Friday, March 5, 2021.

All volunteers and nominees are required to meet with current School Board members for a Discernment Meeting the afternoon of March 7, 2021, to learn more about the Board and the responsibilities of Voting Members. The session will be held online and will last about 30 minutes. Only interested parties will receive the meeting invite. If you have a conflict but are still interested, then please email Aaron Giust, School Board Secretary, at schoolboard-secretary@stalbert.org. Thank you!
