Welcome Back to School!

I am so excited to get this school year started! I wish that I could meet with each one of you to hear about your summers. I know it went fast, and I hope everyone had some time to relax and enjoy their families. (My favorite things to do!)

Our school staff was very busy last week with meetings, professional development, a prayer service, arranging schedules, and moving and preparing classrooms!

A change this school year that I would like to point out, is that when students are dropped off at school in the morning, (at or after 7:30) they will come into school and go to their homeroom. This is different from past years where students would wait outside until 7:40. As in previous years, staff will be outside opening doors for drop-off at 7:25. The school doors will open at 7:30, and lock again at 7:50 for announcements. Teachers will be in their rooms ready to greet students at 7:30.

As we start our new school year together, I would like to focus on Psalms 111:10: “How can men be wise? The only way to begin is by reverence for God. For growth in wisdom comes from obeying his laws. Praise his name forever.” We are so fortunate to be starting the school year at St. Albert where we, families and school, come together to provide an excellent education rooted in Him.

--- FROM YOUR SPORTS MINISTRY ---

Fall Sports Gate and Concession Worker Sign-ups

We once again need your help to support our St. Albert Vikings. Each family is required to sign up for one slot during the season. This means if your child is playing football, volleyball, flag football, cross country, K-2 soccer, cheerleading or powder puff football you need to work a shift in the St. Albert gym. These volunteer hours greatly reduce the cost of all sports at St. Albert.

Please sign up for an available date/time to work the gate or concession stand. First come, first serve and more slots will be added as schedules are confirmed!

When you sign up or sign up a sub, please note the name of the athlete(s) so you will receive credit for working. After September 1, the remaining slots will be randomly filled with families who have yet to sign up. Thanks so much for your support.

If you wish to have a sub work your shift, please refer to either the sub list located on the Sports Ministry link or contact Kelly Logsdon at kelly.lewis.logsdon@gmail.com You will be responsible for paying the sub. If you don't find a sub and do not show up for your shift, your child will have to sit out a game. If you do find a sub and the sub does not show up, your child will not be penalized.

If you opted out and paid the $20 on SI play when you signed your child up for a sport this fall, I have your name and no action is required. Thanks!

Have a Great School Year!
