St. Albert’s Parent, Teacher, Student Conferences are scheduled for Tuesday, February 11, 2020 and Wednesday, February 12, 2020. Conferences will be offered at the same times that they were offered during the Fall: Tuesday, February 11 from 3:00 - 7:00, and Wednesday from 1:00 - 5:00. (NOTE:This was originally published as 8:00pm but that was a typo. Conferences end at 5:00pm on Wednesday.)
As parents, it can be a struggle to get our adolescent children to open up to us. John Acuff from Parent Cue talks about a goal he is working on - trying to get his kids to feel comfortable enough to tell him "weird things". You can read more about it here:
It is hard to believe it is already time to begin planning for the following school year. Please take some time to carefully review the below information as it affects every family here.
St. Albert the Great Parish School will automatically re-enroll all current students in preschool - 7th grade for the 2020-2021 school year UNLESS the parent/guardian submits a letter in writing to Principal, Mrs. Ellen Martin, by January 17, 2020, stating your child(ren) will not be returning for the 2020-2021 school year.
On February 8, 2020, we will automatically draft your Pre-Registration fee of $100 per student (current returning students) through your FACTS account, in order to reserve your child’s spot in class for the 2020-2021 school year.
You will receive a notification from FACTS Management via email in advance before your account is drafted. If you have any questions, please contact Cheryl Harper at charper@stalbert.org or 425-3940, x107.
If you are adding a new student next year, please see below for more information.
If your child is NOT returning for 2020-2021, please submit your intention to withdraw your student(s), in writing, to Mrs. Martin by January 17, 2020, to avoid being auto-drafted.
Current families who are adding a NEW student in preschool, junior kindergarten, or kindergarten will need to submit a “New Student Application”, a check for the $100 non-refundable application fee (per new student), and copy of your child’s original state-issued birth certificate. Please make the check payable to “St. Albert the Great” and write your child’s name on the memo line. The 2020-2021 applications along with the other new student documentation can be found on our website under the “Admissions” tab, then “Forms and Handbook”.
The deadline to submit an application for a new sibling is January 17, 2020. We will accept applications after this date on a rolling basis, but applications submitted between 10/1/19 - 1/17/20 have first priority. After 1/17/20, we cannot guarantee parishioner enrollment. Due to high demand of preschool and junior kindergarten spots, your child could be placed on a wait list, pending availability, if an application is not received during our initial enrollment period.
Age Requirements for Preschool, Junior Kindergarten & Kindergarten:
Again, your new student will need a $100 check for their application fee, but your current student’s annual pre-registration ($100) fee, will be drafted from your FACTS account on February 8, 2020.
It is critical that we know how many students are returning and how many new siblings will be added to determine how many prospective students we can accept for the following school year. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Now is the time for all families with one or more children (Kindergarten-8th grade) enrolled in or applying to a Catholic elementary school in the Archdiocese of Louisville to apply for tuition assistance for the 2020-2021 school year. Families must submit their application, 2018 Federal tax return, 2018 W-2’s, and other non-taxable documentation along with the $30 processing fee by February 28, 2020.
Parish membership is not required to receive tuition assistance. Incoming preschool and junior kindergarten students are not eligible for financial assistance.
Tuition assistance applications must be submitted between December 15, 2019 – February 28, 2020. Go to www.ceflou.org to apply. For assistance in filling out the online tuition assistance application please contact the parent helpline at 866-315-9262. For St. Albert specific questions regarding tuition assistance please contact Lisa Kleyer at (502) 425-3940, x103 or lkleyer@stalbert.org.
We strongly encourage you to include “your story” on the application, in the Additional Question section, by explaining your personal situation in a brief, detailed statement. The extra information is often used to determine if, and how much aid is awarded.
Given the high volume of applications, we encourage you to submit your form early to ensure timely completion of the review process. Completed applications received by their deadline will participate in the initial grant awards allocation. A much smaller amount of tuition assistance may be available for forms submitted after that date. The more information you can include about your situation on the form, the better chance you have in receiving aid, if you qualify.
Catholic schools remain accessible to families of all economic backgrounds by offering a wide range of tuition assistance options. This year St. Albert families received over $175,000 in tuition aid from the Catholic Education Foundation, their partners, and St. Albert the Great. 22% of our school families receive some amount of financial aid.
On Wednesday, January 15th, we will be hosting an Open House for prospective families to tour, but also invite our current parents, who wish to visit the grade level their child will have for next year, to drop in between 9:00-11:00 a.m. You are free to visit classrooms on your own and experience a typical school day as a Viking. Please enter the school office to sign in and then proceed to your interested grades. We hope you will join us!
Coming Soon: The School and Parish Community will soon be launching Flocknote: a smarter email and texting program! Through this program we will better be able to communicate with you about school, sports, church, stewardship, bible studies, and so much more! So keep a look out for more information coming soon!

Hello Winter Sports Families!
We once again need your help to support our St. Albert Vikings. Each family is required to sign up for one slot during the season. This means if your child is playing basketball, archery, swimming or cheerleading you need to work a shift in the St. Albert gym. These volunteer hours greatly reduce the cost of all sports at St. Albert.
Please sign up for an available date/time to work the gate or concession stand. First come, first serve and more slots will be added as schedules are confirmed!
When you sign up or sign up a sub, please note the name of the athlete(s) so you will receive credit for working. After December 19th, the remaining slots will be randomly filled with families who have yet to sign up. Thanks so much for your support.
If you wish to have a sub work your shift, contact Kelly Logsdon at kelly.lewis.logsdon@gmail.com. You will be responsible for paying the sub ($20). If you don't find a sub and do not show up for your shift, your child will have to sit out a game. If you do find a sub and the sub does not show up, your child will not be penalized.
If you opted out and paid the $20 on SI play when you signed your child up for a sport this winter, I have your name and no action is required. Thanks!
